Job description

Develop and grow market share for Dynapac North America LLC paving and compaction product lines in designated territory. Implement actions that result in sales and profitability growth that are in line with overall company objectives and goals. The position will report to the Director of Dealer Sales and Development.

Location: MUST currently live in the territory being supported with easy airport access (Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas,Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Dakotas)

Travel Availability: Frequent (up to 75%) over-night travel by car and/or airplane is required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales:

  • Grow Dynapac North America LLC (Road Construction Equipment) sales and market share in applicable construction segments as directed by management team.

  • Perform Sales Management of market and distribution in the territory to best cover the customers present in the territory.

  • Develop Road Construction sales on a direct basis, and support Distribution and other company representatives as necessary.

  • Develop and implement a strategy to achieve sales growth and targets within assigned geographic area

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with established customers through close management of accounts and attention to their needs.

  • Assess and define customer applications so that the correct product can be represented. Ensure integrity in the application of the products.

  • Assist any other Road Construction Equipment reps as required, including training or shared work with other customers.

  • This position will require extensive overnight travel, 75%, including weekends and holidays as needed.

  • Supervise and manage product demonstrations with key customers to prove product productivity, ease of use and overall performance.

Service:

  • Ensure superior customer product support by working closely with Corporate Management, Product Managers, Administration, technical and Customer Support groups.

  • Supervise the planning, organization and administration of Road Construction Equipment demonstrations as required.

  • Provide product and application support as needed to other Road Construction Equipment reps and customers.

  • Manage and participate actively in new machine startups, training additional sales personnel along the way to provide more skilled sales reps in conducting sales presentations based on jobsite success.

  • Manage and help solve ongoing technical issues with customers and internal technical support and follow up to insure key issues are solved completely. Act on behalf of peer group members in their absence as and when called upon to do so either by design or circumstance.

Communication:

  • Communicate market activities with Sr. Director of Sales, Product Line Managers and members of the sales team. Work together to secure orders.

  • Communicate service, administration and product support issues Product Line Managers, Service Management, Customer Service, Inventory and appropriate administration.

  • Prepare information for sales meetings and conference calls.

  • Prepare essential reports to include; activity, sales, demo, and marketing reports.

  • Collect and submit data to maintain the customer information database.

  • Maintain competitor information (specifications, market share etc.)

  • Report industry trends relating to equipment, markets & applications. Participate in equipment shows and association meetings.

  • Assist other Dynapac personnel in achieving their goals in your geographic area with their respective products.

  • File serious customer complaints to the Sr. Director of Sales and, so it can be addressed in a systematic manner.

Training & Skill Development:

  • Maintain a high level of product and product application knowledge.

  • Possess a thorough understanding of machine functions and systems.

  • Present effective sales and product training seminars to customer sales team and end customers.

  • Must to be able to manage multiple customers and their multi-layer personnel organizations, (corporate management to field mechanics).

  • Encompass a good understanding of computers and associated software, to support performance of daily activities. This includes but is not limited to; Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Utilize CRM and quotation tools for ongoing customer relationship management improvement and visibility

Leadership and Management:

  • Manage distributors and other channels effectively to help them exceed agreed upon sales targets and ensure they are provided the necessary support to accomplish their missions

  • Participate in the management team meetings, reviews, territory management, inventory control, and planning processes.

  • Active participation in industry trade associations in collaboration with Director of Sales.

Education/Experience requirements:

Bachelor's Degree preferred. Five plus years of related industry experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Road Construction Industry and products a definite plus.

Certifications/Licenses: Maintain a valid driver's license.
