Job Description: Manager Design Services | Band C | Fayat Engineering Centre
Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Manager to lead the BOMAG Product Vertical in Fayat Engineering Centre. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in overseeing a diverse team spanning Mechanical Design, Software, Marketing, and Aftermarket support. Your primary responsibilities will encompass fostering competence, driving excellence in project execution, and maintaining product quality. Additionally, you will be instrumental in enhancing customer relations and team performance. The position will functionally report into General Manager Fayat Engineering Centre.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Management: Lead the Bomag support team, overseeing Mechanical Design, Software, Marketing, and Aftermarket functions. Skilled in leveraging cross-functional competencies to drive division-wide success. Proven ability to manage large, multidisciplinary teams of 5080 engineers, fostering collaboration and high performance.
- Global & Multicultural Team Experience: Experienced in managing geographically distributed teams across diverse cultural backgrounds. Adept at navigating cross-border collaboration, aligning global stakeholders, and maintaining strong communication across time zones.
- Project Support: Provide essential support in project execution and ensure the timely and high-quality maintenance of our products.
- Team Development: Foster an environment that encourages and motivates your team to build their competencies, fostering continuous learning and innovation.
- Customer Relations: Maintain effective and timely communication with customers, and implement actions to enhance, sustain, and expand customer relationships and business growth.
- Talent Management: Oversee the recruitment, training, coaching, mentoring, motivation, and performance appraisal of team members as needed.
- Process Ownership: Take ownership of all internal processes within the teams, constantly seeking opportunities for upgrades and improvements.
- Business Development & Account Management: Has flair of business development & account management experience up to ~1 to 2M Euros.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek better ways to enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction across the Captive Design Centre.
- Compliance and Culture: Ensure compliance with Fayat values (Autonomy, Commitment and Audacity), company policies, and business Code of practice, and promote an open and collaborative culture within the organization.
Skill Requirement -
- Engineering expertise in construction equipment design.
- Has worked in Global Engineering center and not only in a factory engineering setup.
- Proficiency in design tools.
- Strong project management skills.
- Experience in New Product Development will be a PLUS
- In-depth knowledge of roller and paver technology.
- Problem-solving and innovation abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork.
- Budget and resource management.
- Basic Financial Knowledge
- Quality assurance and testing expertise.
- Adaptability to evolving industry standards.

Experience & Education Requirement
- 20+ Years of Experience minimum
- 10+ Years of Team Handling Experience is a MUST
- Basic German language skill (A1/A2) is advantageous.
- Having worked with European clients and has either working experience in Europe is advantageous.
- Experience in New Product Development is necessary.
- Bachelors in Engineering
- Masters is advantageous
- PMP® Certification is a PLUS
